J. Hicks Lanier

John Hicks Lanier is an American businessman. He has been the Chairman of the Board and CEO of Oxford Industries since 1981.[1][2][3][4][5][6][7]

Biography

J. Hicks Lanier graduated from Vanderbilt University and received an M.B.A. from Harvard University in 1964.[1]

He was the director of the Piedmont Medical Center, the American Apparel Manufacturers Association, and Shaw Industries.[1][7] In 1981, he became the Chairman of the Board and the CEO of Oxford Industries, a companies co-founded by his father, Sartain Lanier.[8][3] He is a director of SunTrust Banks, Inc., Crawford & Company, and Genuine Parts Company.[1][2][3][6][7] He sits on the Board of Advisors of Urban Realty Partners.[4]

He is a former trustee of the Westminster Schools of Atlanta and the Henrietta Egleston Hospital for Children.[1][7] He now sits on the Board of Trustees of Vanderbilt University since 1997 and on the Sartain Lanier Family Foundation.[1][3][9][7] He sits on the Board of Directors of the Georgia Chamber of Commerce.[10] He is also a member of Central Atlanta Progress.[11]

He is married with three children.[1]
